Alan Shupe is Associate Director, Process Development Downstream at Takeda, where he serves as the scientific lead for matrix teams developing and optimizing late-stage commercial downstream bioprocesses. His expertise spans monoclonal antibody and fusion protein purification, chromatography, filtration, protein stability, and process troubleshooting, with extensive experience in CMC development and technical documentation. Prior to joining Takeda in 2021, Alan spent over nine years at Bristol Myers Squibb leading downstream process development programs. He holds a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry.
