Jimmy Zhao

Dr. Jimmy Zhao is Global Asset Lead for iza-bren and Executive Director of Clinical Development at SystImmune, where he leads the strategic development of next-generation antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and other innovative oncology programs. Prior to joining SystImmune, Dr. Zhao served as Global Development Medical Director/Clinical Lead and Baselga Cancer Research Scholar at AstraZeneca, where he contributed to the development of innovative ADC therapies. A trained medical oncologist and physician-scientist, he completed his fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, where he also conducted research focused on mechanisms of drug resistance in prostate cancer. Dr. Zhao received his MD from UCLA and PhD from Caltech, where he conducted research in the laboratory of the late Nobel Laureate David Baltimore. He has authored more than 30 scientific publications spanning clinical oncology, immunology, and translational medicine.
