Job title: Senior Scientist
Bio:
I am a research scientist within the Chemical, Biological and Radiological division at Dstl Porton Down, and I am currently undertaking a PhD in collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. My PhD project is developing antibody based combination therapies for melioidosis, a neglected tropical disease caused by the bacterium Burkholderia pseudomallei. This project involves creating an antibody-antibiotic conjugate which has potential to deliver antibiotic to the site of infection, improving current antibiotic therapies for melioidosis. I have an extensive background at Dstl in monoclonal antibody generation which is now being applied to therapeutics for bacterial diseases. My future work will involve further investigation of therapeutic antibodies including developing antibody-drug conjugates for other bacterial diseases.
